Spain has registered near-record sales levels in April, with 386 new PEV passenger cars registered, up an impressive 197% Year-on-Year.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was the surprise of the month, registering a new record (144 units) for a plug-in hybrid model, while at the same time returning to the Year-to-date leadership, with an 18 units lead (270 vs 252) over the now Second Placed Nissan Leaf.

Two final mentions, 51 registrations achieved by the Smart Fortwo ED in April, no doubt connected to the Car2Go car sharing fleet expansion, while the Tesla Model S registered six units last month, a new record. With Tesla Superchargers now arriving to Spain, it is expected that sales of the Californian model will increase in the near future.
