The Dutch plug-in market is still recovering from the sales rush occurred in the end of 2015, with new registrations down 44% Year-on-Year, but nevertheless, March was the first time this year that the market surpassed the 1.000 units, with 1.152 new plug-ins.

The Tesla Model S (371 units, up 40% YoY) was the best seller in March, looking like the first major beneficiary of the new rules in the Netherlands, leading the 2016 ranking with 530 units, almost double of the Number Two, the Nissan Leaf (280 units).

Until not long ago the predominant technology in this market, the first plug-in hybrid, appears only in Third, with the Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV confirming itself as one of the most popular choices here.
