Volvo XC90 PHEV Number One in Belgium

The Belgian PEV passenger car market continues with high growth rates, having registered 898 units in June, representing an 89% improvement over the same month last year.

The PEV market share is now at around 1.5%, double of what it had last year, although most of the growth comes from plug-in hybrids, which are growing at double the rate of BEV’s and outsell them at an order of 3 to 1.

The Volvo XC90 PHEV is Belgium’s favorite PEV, leading the ranking, both in June (147 units) and Year-to-date (1.017) followed at a distance by two other luxury SUV’s: The BMW X5 PHEV in Second, with 650 units, and the Porsche Cayenne PHEV in Third, with 513.

A word of mention to the Tesla Model S, which delivered 102 units in June, down 36% regarding the same period last year.
