Renault Zoe down in slow sales month in France

With 2.119 new PEV passenger cars registered in April, registrations were down 23%, but Year-to-date registrations are still up 5% YoY.

The Renault Zoe is one of the models to drop in April, having registered 939 passenger units, down from 990 a year ago, setting the tone for the slow sales month.

Proving that competitive pricing is a successful sales tool, the Nissan Leaf was Second last month, with 198 units, followed by one of the hottest PHEV right now, the Mercedes GLC350e, with 125 registrations.

Sales were also down in the LCV market, to 370 registrations in April, down 28% year-on-year, no doubt related to the poor shape of the chronical leader Renault Kangoo ZE, down 42% YoY, suffering from the delay in the delivery of the new 33 kWh battery version.

For the whole of 2017, the Renault Kangoo ZE is still a distant leader, with 596 units, followed by the Peugeot Partner EV (264) and the Renault Zoe Van (180).
