BMW i3 #1 in April, Hyundai Ioniq Electric #2
The Netherlands have registered 357 plug-in passenger cars last month, down 59% Year-on-Year, with the Year-to-date sales now at 2.386 units.
Despite this large drop, all-electric cars continue to flourish, having registered 308 units in April, or 86% of all PEV sales, up 29% YoY, with BEV sales up 89% this year.
Breaking down April sales by model, the all-electric BMW i3 was the monthly leader, with 79 registrations last month, followed by the Hyundai Ioniq Electric (64 units), with the Tesla Model S closing the podium, with 48 units.
In the Year-to-date ranking, the Tesla Model S is the 2017 undisputed leader, with 494 units, followed by the Second Placed BMW i3 (317 registrations), up one position, switching positions with the Nissan Leaf, with 312 units.
April’s best-selling plug-in hybrid, the recently arrived Second Generation Toyota Prius PHEV (13 units), was only Eighth in the PEV ranking, reflecting the 180º turnaround in the market, with BEVs now having the upper hand.
Final mention for the first 11 registrations of the Opel Ampera-e, a model that has been expected with great anticipation.
