Audi Q7 e-Tron Shines in Iceland
Iceland has had a record month in September, registering 105 new PEV passenger cars, up an impressive 84% Year-on-Year. The PEV Market Share is now crossing firmly the 4% barrier, thanks to the 672 PEV’s registered this year, a 75% increase regarding the same period last year.
The Volkswagen Golf GTE (17 units, new personal best) was the best seller in September, with two plug-in hybrid SUV’s following suit, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Audi Q7 e-Tron arrived tied in Second, both with 14 units. The German SUV performance is something of a surprise, as it happened right on its first full sales month, which might indicate a successful career in this market.
Despite this, the Year-to-date ranking is still dominated by Iceland’s favorite EV, the Nissan Leaf, with 153 units, followed by the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (87 units) and Volkswagen Golf GTE (79).
